A NORTH Yorkshire man is going swimming with sharks to raise money for his grandson.
Adrian Kerrell's grandson, four-year-old Elliott, has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle- wasting disease.
Now Mr Kerrell and his wife, Pat, from Whixley, near Harrogate, are hard at work raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
On Thursday, Mr Kerrell, a keen diver, will face a tank full of sharks and other marine monsters at the Blue Planet Aquarium, at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. A keeper has warned him one shark is 12 feet long.
"I am a bit nervous," Mr Kerrell said.
Following the dive, the Kerrells will go back to training for a sponsored trek along 100 kilometres of the Great Wall Of China in October.
Mr Kerrell hopes the dive, the trek and other events will raise about £40,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
