DESPITE the comments made by Ms Youngjohns, and as revealed within the public consultation meetings, the St Barnabas School development has overwhelming support (April 8).
Thank goodness the education authority has listened to the needs of the local community and is providing a state of the art educational establishment which will serve the children of Leeman Road now and well into the future.
Far better the minute fraction of land intended for use be utilised to provide a facility that the entire Leeman Road community can be justly proud of, than if it became an area utilised by a minority who "walk their dogs".
The new school will provide facilities for all, in an environment that is contemporary, avant-garde and will act as a beacon that other schools will want to follow.
