AN EAST Yorkshire town has announced its plans for this year's Yorkshire Day.
A gala charity dinner, Yorkshire puddings and brass bands are all on the menu for Pocklington residents to celebrate their town's Yorkshire identity and raise money for charity. Chairman Tony Nicholson said he was delighted that local and regional sponsors had come forward to support a series of events, which will take place from August 1 to 3.
He said: "We're really pleased to have received such a positive response. I hope everyone in the area will get involved."
Deputy mayor George McManus said: "The town has a great opportunity to highlight the diversity of Yorkshire while concentrating attention on the Pocklington area this summer. I urge everyone to show their support."
