YORK University will host summer schools for the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth.
Students between 11 and 16-years-old who fall within the top five per cent nationally are able to take part in the activities of the academy.
Based at the University of Warwick, the academy also has events taking place throughout the country.
York will be hosting three-week residential courses from August 10 which will allow students to look at new subjects or look at old ones from a new perspective.
Students can choose from a range of courses including mathematical code cracking, African literature and the research of health and diseases.
Ivan Holdsworth, director of programmes at the National Academy, said: "The summer schools are a wonderful opportunity for students to study a subject in greater depth and work with experts in their field.
"I look at some of the courses and think I'd like to do that."
Students who think they may be eligible can get an information pack at www.
