Selby Warriors Rugby League Club under-10s were overwhelmed 60-4 by Elland Boxers.
Selby's one plus was crossing the try line with a blockbusting effort from prop and Selby man of the match Kurt Cookson.
Selby started brightly, captain Daniel Bate organising play from acting half and kicking well. He was also the best tackler. But Elland ran away with the game in the dying stages.
Robert Hardy, playing his first game at prop, was the most improved player. Conner Smith was the coaches' choice.
Next Wednesday the squad will be split into two teams and will have a practice game, kick off 6pm.
