York City Knights have appointed Stephen Green as the club's commercial operations director.
He has been helping as the Knights' matchday operations manager at the club and will have responsibility for all areas of revenue generation including funding, sponsorships and incentive schemes to support the club.
He has worked as a management consultant and moved to York over a year ago, after spending seven years in Denmark.
Green has worked with large and medium sized companies in this country and in Scandinavia at senior management and board level and has more than 20 years experience of organisational planning and project implementation.
The Knights see the appointment of Green as an important step in developing the organisational structure and business platform for future success.
Knights' chief executive, Steve Ferres, said: "The appointment of Stephen Green is another significant step in the Knights development strategy. "Stephen with his considerable organisational expertise will be a tremendous asset to the Knights and adds further armoury to our ambitions."
Originally from Saddleworth, Green grew up supporting Oldham. He is now keen to see the two teams pitched together when the Knights achieve their promotion dreams at the end of this season.
Fans are reminded that Knights opening National League division two game against Gateshead Thunder on Good Friday kicks off at 6pm.
