YORK'S squad will be pushed to the limits for the final few weeks of the season following their 26-10 victory over Goole in the Yorkshire Cup last night.
York, who are supposed to be heading off on tour to Germany next week, now face the prospect of a second round tie in midweek followed by their crucial Yorkshire One/Durham and Northumberland One play-off on April 26.
Tom Copeland led the way with 16 points as York added to the misery of relegated Goole.
Copeland slotted over three penalties, a drop goal and two conversions with Jeremy Clutton and Rob Liddle crossing for tries.
Pocklington, however, were swatted aside as National Two outfit Doncaster racked up a 72-5 victory at Percy Park.
Not even the dismissal of scrum-half Simon Greenslade could halt the visitors as they ran in 12 tries.
Former Pocklington School pupils Richard and Andrew Poskitt returned 'home' and bagged two tries apiece, while Jonny Frank scored Pock's only points with a second half try.
Selby will make their first steps into this season's competition when they entertain defending champions Harrogate tonight.
Selby have selected a strong squad for the match with the likes of Ray Adamson playing their third match in five days following the club's success at the York Veterans Tournament on Sunday.
