A SCOUT group celebrating its 80th anniversary is planning a reunion weekend.
But first the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders are hoping to contact former members of the Lord Mayor's Own Scout Group to make sure their birthday camp is one to remember. Group scout leader Tony Wilcock, who has been involved with the group since he was six years old, said they were looking forward to a great weekend.
He said: "We are having a bit of a celebration, and anyone who has been in the group over the years has been invited. I have sent out over 200 letters and the responses are coming back gradually."
Present Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be camping at Snowball Activity Centre outside Stockton-on-the-Forest, York, for the spring bank holiday from May 23 to 25. A giant reunion barbecue is planned for Saturday night, and Mr Wilcock said he was hoping to invite as many people to the event as he could. To find out more, phone Tony Wilcock on 01904 701299.
