FOUR people have been released on police bail after they were arrested in connection with a burglary in which firearms were stolen from an East Yorkshire farm.
Seven shotguns and ammunition were taken in a burglary at a farm in East Cottingwith, near Pocklington, on Sunday.
A police spokeswoman said information indicated that the occupants of a Volkswagen Golf may have been connected with the crime. The car was found outside a house in Westfield Square, Goole.
She said: "Observations were put in place to watch two houses on Westfield Square and authority was granted to arm the Armed Response officers."
Two men, aged 17 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of burglary by armed officers in Pasture Road, Goole, when they left the house on foot at 5.50pm on Sunday.
At 8.40pm that night officers entered the house and arrested two women, aged 22 and 34, on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
The house was searched and shotguns, ammunition and electrical equipment were found.
The four were held in custody at Goole Police Station, but later released, without charge, pending further inquiries.
