Pocklington now only need one point from their last two games to retain their championship crown after they were the only team to win in the premier division, where four games ended all square.
The champions-elect toppled Kartiers 3-0, while elsewhere their nearest rivals, Dringhouses, were fortunate to take a point at home to Nestl Rowntree.
A 5-1 midweek win over Huntington had seen Dringhouses close to within a point of Pocklington, but on Saturday they had goalkeeper Mick Conlon to thank for the single point they earned against 'Trees, who belied their current position to severely test the title challengers.
'Trees enjoyed a lively opening 20 minutes, but the hosts began to take charge with Lee Atkinson controlling midfield.
Ian Rankiellor opened the scoring after half an hour, his shot deflecting past the 'Trees keeper.
Midway through the second half ,the home side lost their momentum and Rowntrees began to press.
Adie Gray met a right wing cross with a powerful header which looked to have done the trick until Conlon pulled off a breath-taking save.
He repeated the feat soon after, but 15 minutes from time he had no chance when another cross found Dave Cooper unmarked to fire home a deserved equaliser.
The mid-table clash between Huntington Rovers and Wigginton Grasshoppers ended 1-1.
Jamie Smith netted a second half equaliser for Grasshoppers after Rovers had taken a first half lead with a solo effort from Pat Noon.
Bishopthorpe scraped out of the relegation places with a 2-2 draw at Malton Bacon Factory, who also played most of the game with ten men.
Tom Oxtoby opened Fac-tory's account on 32 minutes but Bishopthorpe equalised a couple of minutes later.
A goal-keeping error presented Bishops with the lead 15 minutes from time, but Brian Howe managed a last-gasp equaliser for The Factory ranks.
Division one promotion candidates Copmanthorpe had a fine 3-1 midweek win over South Bank but then threw away their advantage by surrendering a first half lead on Saturday to go down 3-2 at home to St John's College.
Two first half goals from Terry Hibbert set Copmanthorpe up but Rob Price netted to keep the Students in touch and two from Kevin Price in the second half won the game and ensured first division status for St John's next season.
T&L Selby reinforced their position of second in the table with a 2-1 win at home to Norwich Union.
Chris Harkin netted in the first half for the Selby side but Matt Devereaux equalised for the Insurancemen before half-time.
The winner came 15 minutes from full-time when Brendan Lanaghan scored from the penalty spot.
Post Office remain in contention after a 4-1 win at New Earswick.
The home side took the lead with a Craig Goodchild goal but Richard Winterburn managed an equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
Andy Shields hit two after the break to put the Postmen in charge and Richard Dalby wrapped things up with the fourth goal late in the game.
After the midweek reversal at Copmanthorpe, South Bank bounced back with a 3-2 win over Thorpe United thanks to a Chris Rowan strike, an own goal and a 75th-minute winner from Shaun Turner.
Wigginton Black Horse look odds on title favourites after a 3-0 win at Fulford. Anthony Luck netted the first just before half-time and bagged a second after the break along with a goal from Graham Vickers.
Hamilton Panthers took over at the top of division two after a 3-2 win at White Horse, while Stamford Bridge dropped points in a 0-0 draw at Easingwold.
Neil Hartley struck after ten minutes for Panthers but the home side hit back with a Terry Brady goal. Hartley restored Panthers lead five minutes before the break and on the restart it was only Dave Watson in the White Horse goal that stood between the Panthers and a runaway win.
Gavin Pickard managed to beat Watson in the 75th minute but Lenny Mason hit a second for the home side with two minutes remaining.
Barmby Moor thumped Stillington 5-0 to keep up the pressure at the top. Richard Allison and Dave O'Connor managed two goals apiece and Paul Young added the fifth.
Elvington Harriers suffered an hangover from their midweek cup semi-final defeat to go down 4-3 at home to Huby. Dave Brogan, Paul Whitehead, Martin Durrant and Tom Ryder were the Huby marksmen with Dan Wagstaff, Giles Brighton and Luke Dove replying.
Steve Smith, Steve Jefferson, Andy Green (pen) and Kevin Webb (2) were the scorers for LNER Builders as they beat Ouseburn & Hammerton 5-4 in their quest to avoid the drop.
Heslington managed to re-verse their recent form with a 3-2 win at home to Poppleton.
Stuart Dickinson netted for Heslington but James Barratt levelled matters after half-time. Dickinson then netted his second and Adam Carlyle added a third. Veteran Chris Johnson pulled one back for Poppleton.
A last-minute goal from Lee Wiper looks to have put Wilberfoss firmly in charge of the division three title contest as they won 2-1 against nearest rivals Moor Lane.
Jeff Burnham netted Wilberfoss's first after only two minutes and they held this lead until five minutes from the final whistle when Paul Jones headed home a free-kick.
The Lane had hardly finished celebrating when Wiper struck.
Simon Roy struck first to put Sheriff Hutton into the lead against local rivals Strensall but Nigel Lyle, Mick Pipe and Lee Laurence struck in the second half to win the game for Strensall.
Wheldrake won 4-1 at home to Hemingbrough with goals from Nick Henshaw (2), Adrian Ogden and Steve Rawlinson.
Norton produced the same score-line in their home game with Heworth. John Dutton (2), Dean Readman and substitute Chris Hodgson were their marksmen.
