DAMON Cox was the four goal hero as Pickering Royal Oak completed a quick double triumph.

They clinched the RJF Homes Beckett Football League second division championship last night, taking the title with four league games still to play.

Only 24 hours earlier Royal Oak became the first Beckett League second division team to win Scarborough and District FA Junior Cup.

Royal Oak came back from being two down to beat Bagby and Balk 5-2 last night.

Adie Porter and Paul Fountain out Bagby and Balk 2-0 up. Cox pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, Mike Connell equalised midway through the second half and in the last five minutes Cox hit a hat-trick.

His four goals in the match gives him 43 league goals so far this season.

In the Scarborough and District FA Junior Cup final Royal Oak beat previously unbeaten Edgehill Reserves 4-3 on Pickering Town's ground.

Alex Stockhill put Edgehill ahead after 21 minutes. Cox equalised three minutes before half-time with Alex MacRae put Royal Oak ahead in first half stoppage time.

In the second half Royal Oak took a 4-1 lead with goals by Lee Allardice (77 minutes) and Cox (79 minutes).

Edgehill scored twice in the last four minutes, with goals by former Pickering Town striker Dave Bowman and substitute Bryan Messruther.
