Tadcaster thespians are planning to raise the roof when they perform in front of some of the country's finest amateur talent this weekend.
Thirty members of Tadcaster & District Amateur Operatic Society will perform a special 75-minute show, Life Is A Cabaret, to an audience of 1,000 at the Spa Theatre, Bridlington, tomorrow night.
They have been invited to perform as part of the annual conference of the National Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) in the seaside town.
This is the second time the honour has been bestowed on the society.
The last time members were invited to tread the boards at Bridlington was in 1993.
Choreographer and producer Angela Edwards said: "This is the equivalent of the London Palladium for amateurs.
"It's such an honour to be asked, especially for a second time."
Angela and musical director Jilly-Anne Wilson have been putting the Tadcaster members through their paces with rehearsals.
The society is recruiting new members for its October production of Crazy For You.
Anyone interested in attending the open auditions for this Gershwin musical should contact society chairperson Jill Thompson on 01977 684178.
