A CHARITY African recipe book which includes unusual dishes such as flying ants in mashed potato and sheep brains on toast, has raised £1,000.
Vicar's wife Sue Baldock, based at Dringhouses Parish Church, York, who discovered the creepy-crawly meals while working as a missionary, has donated the cash to an aids feeding centre in Malawi.
Her friend, David Mason, a former principal of York College, will take the cash to the centre later this year. "I'm looking forward to going," he said. "It will be a very primitive village."
Anyone wishing to donate money to the centre can e-mail David at dmason@fish.co.uk
