A YORK teacher who was awarded an MBE for more than 30 years of dedicated service was honoured by governors at her school.
Stella Hall has been at Haxby Road Primary School since the start of her 36-year career in 1966.
This year she was honoured for her years of dedication by being given an MBE in the New Years honours list.
To show how proud the school is of her, governors surprised her by presenting her with a crystal bowl at an assembly on Wednesday.
Julie Wilkinson, acting deputy head teacher, said: "As a school we are very proud of her.
"It is a real honour for the school as well as for her."
