A prison liaison officer from York is helping to educate children about the perils of drug addiction through a Channel 4 documentary.
Danny Glew, 32, of Tang Hall, will feature in a series of three 45-minute documentaries exploring the issues and themes of addiction.
The Dealing With Drugs material, designed to cross over key stages three and four, is targeted at 14 to 19 year olds and will discuss issues from what drugs look like through to arrest referral schemes and prisons.
Danny, whose work is based in Bradford, said: "I've got a 13-year-old daughter and I know what peer pressure's like. As a parent there's a very fine line you can walk.
"If you tell kids that drugs are really dangerous and can kill you, they're bound to come into contact with friends who have taken drugs and are all right.
"But if you go the other way and don't tell them, then they think you're condoning them. If I can heighten children's awareness about drugs then that's a positive thing."
Hugo Smith, Real Life Media Productions producer, said: "Working in the way he does, Danny's work is a really positive way of ensuring the safety of people who want to be safe when they come out of prison and helping them in a positive and constructive way to get back on their feet with issues such as housing and medication."
The programmes will be aired on Channel 4 in late October and early November.
