WITHIN two seconds of hearing that voice, you know you are listening to Bonnie Tyler.
She hasn't changed much since the mid 1970s.
But it is hard to believe that Ms Tyler was once a promising operatic soprano, before a throat operation changed her voice for ever.
Bonnie still sounds like a saucy old trollop, a bit of a tart with a heart; but it's an endearing quality and many a man in his thirties and forties has a thing about Bonnie.
Tyler is still a huge star in Germany, and can afford big budget production numbers that suit her formidable bluesy delivery. U2, Bruce Springsteen, REM and Bonnie Raitt have their best numbers covered on Heart Strings.
Each act should be flattered with the compliment. Never straying too far from original arrangements, Bonnie Tyler's unmistakable interpretations are warm and endearing renditions.
