POLICE were today interviewing a man in connection with a series of assaults on women in York.
A 24-year-old York man was arrested last night on suspicion of assault after three separate attacks in which women were punched in the face as they walked through the city.
A 33-year-old Malton woman was punched as she walked through the Marble Arch in Leeman Road on Monday, March 31.
A 49-year-old Haxby woman was punched in the face as she walked past Le Meridien Hotel near York Railway Station on Thursday, April 3, and a New Earswick woman was struck outside the Assembly Rooms in Blake Street on Tuesday evening.
