YOU'VE heard comic Dawn French declare: "It's not Terry's, it's mine."
But now chocoholic Americans can say "It's not Britain's, it's ours," as they chomp on Terry's Chocolate Raspberry.
The York confectioner is making the radical new version of its famous Chocolate Orange at its factory in Bishopthorpe Road.
But it is blowing a raspberry at British consumers by restricting sales to exports across the pond.
The decision appears to be down to differences in taste between Brits and Yanks.
A spokesman said the product had been consumer tested in Britain and there had been "no demand."
He denied that the marketing of Chocolate Raspberry had anything to do with last year's slump in sales of Chocolate Orange exports to the US, which forced the company to shed up to 40 jobs.
We reported then how Orange sales had rocketed in the five years to 2001, but then fallen sharply. Plant director John Pollock said that renewed efforts were planned to promote, market and advertise the product in America.
