LEG-WEARY Harrogate Railway summoned their reserves to extend their surge of good form with a 3-1 win over visiting Borrowash Victoria.
Last night's Northern Counties East League premier division clash was Railway's 54th of the season and so manager Paul Marshall opted to bring in a pack of young reserves to add to the core of the four seniors - Ed Neale, Steve Davey, Ian McLean and Phil Walker.
Said Marshall: "With the League Cup quarter-final second leg at Sheffield on Thursday some of the seniors needed a rest. We've played 54 games, and even if we lose on Thursday we've got another eight. With the hard pitches coming in some of the lads are nursing various knocks and strains."
The youngsters, however, served Marshall and Town well to down Borrowash with goals from Pete Wrigley (2) and 19-year-old Rich Metcalfe.
Railway's NCEL premier division rivals Pickering Town are on league duty tonight at home to Brigg Town, kick-off 7.45pm.
