Selby Town's six match unbeaten run in the Northern Counties East League premier division came to an end when they lost 3-1 at top of the table Bridlington Town.
The Robins were behind after just eight minutes when Martin Thacker scored from the penalty spot.
The home side extended their lead before the break with goals from Jamie Richards after 24 minutes and Phil Harrison after 38 minutes.
Selby pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half when Andy Cygan raced on to a long ball and lobbed the ball over Gavin Kelly.
The Robins worked hard in the second half with another solid display from Adam Saddler and they were unlucky not to pull another goal back with Matty Wain and Alan Jackson both going close.
Elsewhere in the NCEL premier, the red mist descended on Pickering and Harrogate Railway.
Against Hallam, the Pikes fell behind just before half-time to a Brett Storey goal before former York City striker Mark Woods and Hallam's Matt Clarke were dismissed for an off-the-ball incident just ten minutes from time.
Four minutes later, Hallam were reduced to nine men when Shaun Hayes received his second yellow of the match.
Pickering wasted little time in making their extra-man count when another for-mer City striker in the Town ranks, Luke Ibbetson, grabbd a late equaliser to keep the Pikes well clear of the drop zone.
Harrogate Railway saw goalkeeper Ed-ward Neale take an early bath after the shot-stopper was sent-off just past the hour mark at Ossett Albion.
By then, Railway were already a goal down after former Scarborough striker Mick Norbury had given Albion a first-half lead.
Neale was dismissed for holding down Danny Toronczak just outside the penalty area.
With striker Kevin Smith taking over in goal for Railway, Toroczak gained re-venge for Neale's indiscretion by then sealing the win for Albion.
Railway will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeat tonight when they entertain Borrowash Victoria in the NCEL premier division.
In division one of the NCEL, Tadcaster Albion, already faced with having to seek re-election next season, suffered a 1-0 de-feat at Hall Road Rangers
Harrogate Town's hopes of securing a top eight finish in the UniBond League Premier Division were maintained after a 2-2 home draw against third-placed Vauxhall Motors.
However, there will be some disappointment at Wetherby Road given the fact Town were 2-0 up with less than 15 minutes remaining.
Town were given a dream start thanks to two goals from Marc Smith in a fizzing opening from the home team.
Smith opened the scoring in the 11th minute, heading home Stuart Elliott's corner.
His second came just two minutes later when he latched on to Scott Bonsall's cross after a fine run and fired home from 10 yards.
Vauxhall left it late to claim their point, pulling a goal back on 77 minutes through Nicky Young before grabbing their equaliser three minutes from time through Kevin Lynch.
