AS the old saying goes, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
So I suppose we should be pleased that our Liberal Democrat opponents in the city council election are busy "recycling" our manifesto policies.
In your report of the visit to York of Lib Dem deputy leader Alan Beith (April 1), you quote their council environmental spokesman as saying that they plan to extend doorstep recycling waste collection across the city.
Perhaps Coun Andrew Waller has been busy looking for good ideas in Labour's recently launched manifesto for the council election campaign. In it we state: "Labour will also seek to increase sustainability and extend kerbside and other recycling facilities across the whole city."
Read on, Mr Waller! There are many more good ideas for York in the Labour manifesto.
