SPORTY young people will be heading to the east coast next month as part of the North Yorkshire Youth Games.
Scarborough has been chosen to host the event on May 18, with around 1,200 young people expected to compete in a huge range of sports.
Athletes will be competing in 11 sports in total, including everything from orienteering to table tennis, as well as games of netball, football, hockey and basketball.
Demonstration sports such as baseball and golf will be taking place, and there will be fun activities such as face-painting and bungy runs on offer.
