THE Jorvik Warrior is being urged to deliver a telling knockout blow when he returns to the ring tomorrow.

York's Jamie Warters will be looking to get his British title ambitions back on track at Willerby Manor, near Hull, when he takes on the vastly experienced Michael Pinnock in a cruiserweight clash.

After suffering only the second defeat of his career at the hands of Tony Booth last time out, trainer Steve Pollard admits Warters needs to impress.

"He is as willing and raring to go as he has ever been and I'm looking for a good performance from Jamie," said Pollard.

"Michael Pinnock has something like 60 fights under his belt and is one of the country's most experienced fighters.

"It will be a good test for Jamie and after losing last time out it's important he bounces back.

"I'm wanting a good performance from him and ideally I'm looking for him to stop Pinnock.

"He hasn't been stopped that often so if Jamie can knock him out and put in a solid performance that would be ideal."

Pollard, who guided Scarborough's Paul Ingle to a featherweight world crown, said should everything go to plan in Hull tomorrow Warters will be fighting again within two weeks.

"By the end of the year I would hope Jamie is fighting for an area title at least," he explained.

"He is still focused and wants to be British champion. He believes he can do it and so do."

Reports in Las Vegas have suggested that talks are under way over Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson fighting on the same card on June 21.

There is a proposal for the pair to appear in a heavyweight double-header, in Buffalo, New York with Vitali Klitschko, Kirk Johnson or Joe Mesi as possible opponents for Lewis.
