SOME of Ryedale's less conventional homes will be hitting the small screen tomorrow in two TV programmes.
Flamingo Land boss Gordon Gibb features in Yorkshire TV's Home series, showing viewers round his log cabin-style bachelor pad, set in the theme park's grounds. And Castle Howard's sumptuous interiors provide the backdrop to a Channel 4 drama documentary programme, The Real Casanova.
Mr Gibb's home is described as a cross between a cuckoo clock and a sauna, although if fiancee Victoria has her way, the pair will soon be moving into a large vicarage, currently used as an office.
Castle Howard's rooms - in particular the bedrooms - were picked to show what Channel 4 promises will be an intriguing reassessment of the life of the 18th century Venetian.
The Real Casanova will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 10.40pm.
Home also features London couple Lucy Weller and Peter Trickett, who gave up city life for a minimal Georgian home in Whitby.
It will be shown on Yorkshire Television at 7.30pm.
