STUDENTS will take to the streets on Friday to show their support for British troops fighting in Iraq.
A group from York St John College will march from the Students' Union, through the city centre to the Minster, waving "Back our Boys" banners and posters in a bid to show solidarity with the troops.
Student Craig Hutchinson, 21, said the campaign was not about opposing or supporting the war - it was about backing the troops.
He said: "Since the war started there have been a lot of protests sending out the wrong message. We want the troops out there to know their country is behind them and we support them all the way."
Last week a small group of students demonstrated in the city centre. This time they expect a larger following and are keen to attract support from outside the college.
Anyone wishing to join the students, should meet at York St John College Students' Union on Friday, at noon.
