NETBALL fever is breaking out in York.
Scores of girls have taken part in a string of tournaments held in recent weeks.
Hot on the heels of the Primary Schools rallies have been a string of York tournaments.
Joseph Rowntree 'A' dominated the York Schools Under-15s netball tournament.
They were the only undefeated team and were crowned champions after the later matches decided the destination of the title.
They beat All Saints 7-1, but Saints bounced back to beat Queen Margaret's 3-0 in the penultimate match.
Joseph Rowntree's team of Melanie Ward (captain), Steff Lauff, Kathryn Ward, Katie Aldous, Helen Jamieson, Jenna Garnett, Edith Bourne and Rosie Wright, then beat Queen Margaret's 7-2 to win the U-15 crown.
Final placings were:
'A' tournament: 1 Joseph Rowntree, 2 All Saints, 3 Queen Margaret's, 4 Huntington, 5 St Peter's, 6 Mount, 7 Bootham, 8 Millthorpe, 9 Lowfields.
'B' tournament: 1 Queen Margaret's, 2 St Peter's 3 All Saints, 4 Joseph Rowntree, 5 Millthorpe.
