FOR 40 years my husband and I have lived in the same house. But the last few years have been a nightmare, since the council re-routed the buses along our avenue.
Single and double decker buses come past every ten minutes from early morning until 11pm. Our drive is cracking up. We have had to have our kitchen redone, because of the big cracks.
The garage walls and floor have cracked. When a bus passes, our bedroom and kitchen vibrate. We are not the only residents with these problems. There are a lot of us. The avenue was not built to take buses.
Please, City of York Council, put your worried citizens who have lived in this city all their lives first. We worry that our homes will end up collapsing around our ears.
Mrs K M Inns,
Bramham Avenue, Acomb, York.
