ON-LOAN Burnley striker Anthony Shandran will be staying at Bootham Crescent until the end of the season, it was confirmed today, writes Dave Stanford.

Shandran's second-month stint from Turf Moor ended after Saturday's 2-0 win over Southend.

However, manager Terry Dolan has moved quickly to keep the youngster at City as the promotion race enters its most critical phase.

With the club's current top scorer Jon Parkin now suspended for City's next two games, against Rochdale on April 12 and Carlisle on April 15, Shandran's availability will be particularly important.

There was also good news on the injury front for City with Christian Fox set to have the cast removed from his broken arm later this week.

The midfielder has been out of action for more than a month after suffering the break in a reserve team clash.

Dolan meanwhile played down reports from Scotland that Dunfermline striker Colin Nish would soon be arriving at Bootham Crescent on trial.

The City chief said he "might" take a look at the 22-year-old, who looks set to be released by the Scottish Premier League outfit at the end of the current campaign, but nothing had been confirmed.

Despite guiding his troops into third place amid immense off-field turmoil, Dolan missed out on the manager of the month accolade for March announced today.

Rushden and Diamonds boss Brian Talbot took the Division Three award with a record of five wins, two draws and one defeat.

City's record for the same period was four wins, a draw and two defeats, one of those coming against Diamonds.

Ipswich Town boss Joe Royle was named the Division One manager of the month, with Colchester United's Phil Parkinson crowned manager of the month in Division Two.
