Nestle Rowntree came within five minutes of taking a point at championship-chasing Pockling-ton.
After some resolute defending by the York side, Barry Gargett finally broke the deadlock when he headed home a Dave Abblett cross to keep Pock on target to retain their Leeper Hare York and District League premier division title.

Huntington Rovers returned to winning ways with a 3-0 home win over Osbaldwick. Paul Downes gave the lead which Graham MacDonald doubled with a penalty. Downes bagged his second in the second half.
Riccall United are already relegated but only two points separate five teams. Bishopthorpe did their cause no harm with an 8-1 win at home to Riccall with Joe Gardham becoming the league's top scorer of the day as he scored six. Graham Wigley and Carl Young added the other goals.
Rufforth were five goals down at home to Old Malton courtesy of strikes by Paul Boyes, Richard Dale (2) and Dave Bradshaw (2) before Paul Moss and Phil Jones gave them some consolation.
Wigginton Black Horse continued their progress towards the division one title with a 4-1 win against St John's College. Jamie Seal struck in the first half but their lead was cancelled out by Dale Mordue.
Black Horse edged in front after the break and eventually won at a canter with further goals from Simon Fisher, Anthony Luck and Jason Evans.
Norwich Union are not safe from relegation after a 3-1 defeat at Haxby & Wigginton. The Insurance side led but Paul Worden levelled the scores before the break and the Haxby team took the lead with a 30-yard free kick and a Paul Dyson goal made sure of the points.
Joe Michelli hit both the Civil Service goals in their home game against Thorpe but the visitors responded with five of their own.
Post Office's promotion hope took a knock as they lost 1-0 at Haxby to Karl Kidd's 25th minute goal.
T&L Selby moved up to second place by beating South Bank 4-3. Shaun Turner gave Bank the early lead but then Selby went 4-1 up with goals from Chris Harkin (2), Danny Rhodes and Steve Rowbottom. South Bank rallied and reduced the arrears through a Mark Willoughby goal and a second from Turner but T&L held on.
White Horse finally managed to move off the bottom of division two for the first time this season after coming back from a two goals down at Poppleton to draw 2-2.
David Pickles and Matt Graham netted goals for Poppleton but Terry Brady reduced the arrears before half-time and Scott Griffiths hit the equaliser.
Hamilton Panthers took over second place with a 6-3 win at Heslington. James Tose netted from the penalty spot after only one minute and Craig Fletcher made it 2-0 nine minutes later. Tose struck two more before half-time to put Panthers firmly in command. Heslington rallied in the second half and pulled the score back to 4-3 but another goal from Tose and a Neil Hartley strike that ensured Panthers won.
Elvington Harriers were shook into action by an early goal from Ouseburn & Hammerton and managed an equaliser by Luke Dove after only 18 minutes. Tom Hovington struck the Ouseburn bar before Ouseburn conceded an own goal early in the second half but drew level with a free-kick.
Elvington's goalkeeper Tom Brownlow was in top form and he kept Ouseburn at bay until Harriers ran riot in the last ten minutes with goals by Hovington, Keiron Young (penalty) and another own goal.
