FURRY friends are to be given the run-around for a sponsored walk in York.
The RSPCA is hosting a sponsored dog-walk to raise money for the animal home in Landing Lane, Clifton.
They are inviting the people of York to come to the centre, borrow a dog and embark on a 12-mile sponsored walk.
Walkers will take a stroll by the river, at once raising money for the animals' future, and giving the dogs a great day out.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 6, the walk beginning at 10.30am.
Anyone interested in taking part can pick up a sponsorship form from the animal home or the shop on Gillygate, or turn up around 10am on the day.
The RSPCA is hoping for strong support for the event, which in recent years has attracted up to 50 walkers, raising great amounts for the charity.
Geraldine Murgatroyd has taken part in the event in previous years.
She said: "We take a leisurely stroll with a nice stop for lunch by the river. It is a really enjoyable day out.
"You get to see bits of York you do not usually get to see, and the dogs really enjoy it.
"I've already got my dog booked for the day. Pack a nice lunch and come along."
