Images And Words, a collaboration between York Contemporary Photography Group and Women & Words, York, is on show at York Barbican Centre until Monday.
Pieces of poetry and prose were given by the women writers to the photographers, and the photographs they inspired have been displayed by Patricia Ruddle and Michael Lee.
Margaret Smith illustrates Anne Micklethwaite's Waiting For Sylvia; John Foreman presents a misty, spiritual response to Nadine Alvarez's Space; Martin Drury accompanies Vesuvia's Joys Of Nature with an image of tree and water.
Further combinations are Patricia Ruddle and Jean Wilkinson's Corner Shop and Tricia Scott's take on Val Macleod's Mountain.
