CHARLOTTE Williams, aged 12, shows her maths prowess in the northern finals of the UK Maths Challenge.
The event, which took place at The Mount School, York, was attended by pupils from as far afield as Wensleydale and Lincolnshire. More than 200 students and 60 staff were involved from the 50 schools taking part. Each team took part in four rounds which included solving mathematical puzzles and even a maths relay race. Winners were calculated at the end of each day, and teams from Bradford and Ripon will go on to the national final, to be held in Cambridge or London later in the summer.
