HAVE you ever wondered what happens to the couple that walks off into the sunset to live happily ever after? New Earswick Musical Society will answer that question in next week's production of Sandy Wilson's Divorce Me, Darling, at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York.
In Wilson's sequel to The Boyfriend - a show staged by NEMS in April 2001 - the five perfect young ladies from Madam Dubonnet's French finishing school have all married their boyfriends of those giddy days.
Ten years on, are they happy? To discover whether the flame has died, they all return to Nice, and subsequent events will reveal if they will end up in the divorce courts, as the title suggests.
Ann McCreadie will continue her run in the producer's chair and revive her 2001 role as Madam Dubonnet. With a view to making this show an authentic sequel, Susan and Paul Blenkiron will return as Tony and Polly Brockhurst; Paul Armstrong and Diane Skinner will play Bobby and Maisie Van Husen once more; and Alan Rome and Beryl Long again will be Lord and Lady Brockhurst.
Divorce Me, Darling will run from April 2 to 5 at 7.30pm nightly. For tickets, ring Stella Waft on 01904 768182 or York Theatre Royal box office, 01904 623568.
