Nestl Rowntree became the first York-based side to win the North Riding County Sunday Cup when they beat A D Components 6-2 in the final at Guisborough last night.
After falling behind to a Components free-kick, Rowntree equalised with a Matty Wain penalty.
The Teesside outfit, many of whose players turn out for Northern League division two pace-setters Thornaby, went ahead after a great run and cross by Steve Ward led to Gavin Dickinson volleying home.
Martin Cowl gave Rowntrees the lead with a left-foot shot before half-time.
Two far post headers by Simon Kehoe stretched the York side's advantage and the scoring was completed with an Andy Battersby header late on.
The trophy was presented to the winning Rowntrees party by Mark Jarvis, secretary of the North Riding FA.
