RSPCA volunteer Carolyn Cox and her husband, Peter, are going to the dogs!
The couple of Strensall, York, will compete in the London Marathon to raise more than £2,000 for the charity's York and District branch. It will help fund a new small animal centre currently being built in the grounds of the society's Landing Lane base.
Carolyn, who works in the RSPCA's charity shop in Gillygate, said: "By running the marathon we can raise essential funds for the RSPCA, money which the society can use to care for sick, injured or neglected animals."
