SESSIONS have retained the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League division one championship.
They clinched the title when they won their match against Poppleton 'A' 8-2 and they will finish well clear of nearest rivals Bootham Conservative Club 'A'.
Mick Wilcockson scored three wins against Poppleton 'A', including beating York champion Richard Moss 11-21 21-17 23-21.
Bootham Conservative Club 'A' struggled to overcome third-from-bottom team York RI 'C' 6-4 despite Jon Wooldridge scoring three wins for Bootham.
Mark Blackburn played well to win two for RIU, including beating Mick Wadsworth 21-11 21-14.
Richard Crowther scored three wins for York RI 'B' but they lost the match 7-3 to Groves Associates 'A'. RI had two youngsters in their team, Stephen Robinson and Joe Teale.
Groves Associates 'B' have won division two with ease, their latest victory being 9-1 over Strensall 'B', with Chris Abbott undefeated.
Sessions 'B' are likely to take second spot.
They had two big wins recently, 9-1 against Poppleton 'C' and 8-2 against BT 'B'. Keith Elsegood and Terry Nicholson both scored three wins against Poppleton, while Dave Hough and Nicholson both won three against BT.
Mick Mills and Richard Ingleby were unbeaten as Bootham Conservative Club 'B' trounced BT 'B' 9-1.
Colin Dobson scored three wins as Northern Electric gained only their second win of the season, beating York RI 'D' 7-3.
Keith Webster won three for Nestle Rowntree 'B' in their 6-4 success over BT 'A'.
Bootham Conservative Club 'C' are division three champions. They have clinched the crown still with three matches to play.
York RI, in second place, were held to a 5-5 draw by Strensall 'D', Rob Pocock being unbeaten for RI.
Adrian Church won three as Norwich Union 'A' beat Strensall 'C' 7-3.
Shepherds beat York Police 7-3 but the Police had to concede four sets because they did not have a full side as players were working night-shift. Jon Ayres won all the Police team's points.
In division four Groves Associates 'D' lead with 149 points and one match to play, while second-placed Nestle Rowntree 'C' have 148 points and two matches to play.
James Parker won three as third-placed York RI 'G' beat Shepherds 'D' 7-3.
Two draws have taken York RI 'H' out of the title race. Richard Leafe won three as they drew 5-5 with York RI 'J' . Stephen Robinson won three for York RI 'I' in the draw with the 'H' team.
Len Watson and Robert Farmery both won three as Sessions 'C' beat Poppleton 'E' 7-3.
