YOUNG patients on a ward at York Hospital enjoyed a belated Christmas party this week thanks to city-based fundraisers.
York Lions raised £300 to take patients from the children's ward on an excursion to meet Santa Claus just before Christmas.
But because of infection problems on the ward the trip was delayed.
This week a group of 11 youngsters enjoyed a trip to York Megabowl and a special meal instead.
York Lions raised the money by selling chocolate Santas to pubs and clubs in the city for auction.
A further £300 raised was split between local charities.
