York beat second-placed Selby 30-14 in the Yorkshire Under-18s Indoor Bowls League, picking up all six points at stake which helped New Earswick move into the runners-up spot after they beat Scarborough 'B' 66-5.
Playing at Thanet Road, Liam Cahill, Philip Herridge and Jamie Lee lost only one end as they swept aside their opponents 20-6.
Philip Scott, Josh Cahill and Adam Liddell were tied at 7-7 and then a two followed by a single put them 10-7 ahead going into the last end.
Selby lay two shots, but Scott came through to reduce it to one and make the final score 10-8.
At Huntington Road, New Earswick proceeded to pick up the maximum points they needed against Scarborough 'B' to gain a place in the semi-finals.
Steve Long, Michael Ollis and Lewis Ashton lost onlyt two ends as they scored an eight, a six and two fives on their way to a 37-2 victory.
Rob Domville, Tom Aveyard and Katie Aveyard scored a seven and a five in their 29-3 win.
Group winners York will play either Scarborough 'A' or Thornaby 'B' in one semi-final, while title holders New Earswick will play Group 'B' winners Hornsea 'A' in the other semi-final.
Both semi-finals and the final will be played at Ryedale Indoor Bowls Club on Sunday, April 6. The semi-finals will start at 10am, with the final at 1pm.
York and District Men's Singles Final between Eddie Howcroft and Barry Walker will take place tomorrow at 2pm and not on Monday, April 7, as originally planned.
York play Featherstone in one of the semi-finals of the inaugural Yorkshire Challenge Cup competition at New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club on Saturday, starting at 9.30pm.
The other semi-final is between Huddersfield and Thornaby.
The winners of both matches will meet in the final, starting at 2.30pm.
York play Hull on Sunday in the Hebden Trophy final, which York have won seven times in its ten-year existence. The match takes place at North Cave Indoor Bowls Club, starting at 1pm.
