PENSIONER Ken Barwick and his son, John, will be riding side-by-side in this year's Great Selby Bike Ride.
Mr Barwick, 70, and John, 38, will be taking part in the sponsored 25-mile ride, which will set off from Barlby High School on Sunday, May 11, at 10am. There will also be a 45-mile ride.
A week later, Rigid Paper Mill worker John, of Millgate, Selby, will be doing another 25-mile bike ride in Pontefract for the Prince of Wales Hospice.
The Great Selby Bike Ride, organised by Selby Lions, has raised £120,000 for local charities over the last 17 years.
Last year about 800 cyclists took part, raising a record £14,000.
Application forms are available from cycle shops in Selby, York and Tadcaster, the Halifax Building Society, in Gowthorpe, Selby, and No Limits shop, in Finkle Street, Selby.
