TICKETS are available for tomorrow night's special sports forum featuring big names from York's sporting fraternity.
The link-up between York City Knights RLC and York City FC will see a host of York rugby and football stars gather at York Acorn ARLC's Thanet Road base for a question and answer session and general sporting debate.
The event, which will raise funds for both clubs, will be hosted by former BBC Radio York sports presenter Alistair Yeomans, now with Radio Five Live, and will feature Steve Ferres, chief executive of the Knights, Paul Broadbent, Knights' head coach, City boss Terry Dolan and skipper Chris Brass, and former Minstermen legend Gordon Staniforth.
The Knights will also be holding their Thursday night training session at Acorn that night, ensuring the entire squad will be at the bash, while Staniforth is also hoping to be joined by a number of former ex-City stars.
Proceedings start at 7pm with the debate kicking-off at 7.45pm. There will be a 15-minute interval at 8.30pm with the Q&A session running until 9.30pm, with the bar remaining open until 11pm.
A raffle and auction of sporting goodies will also be held, under the eye of Darren Payne, the match-day presenter at Knights.
Among the lots will be two Manchester United shirts, one signed by Sir Alex Ferguson and the other by Nobby Stiles, two signed City 'T'-shirts, and a St Helens rugby league shirt signed by last season's Grand Final winning squad.
Tickets, priced £3, are available from behind the bar at the Acorn, the shop at Bootham Crescent and from Robson & Cooper in Lendal, York. Unless there is a sell-out, tickets will also be available on the door.
All the proceeds from the night, organised by John Tattersall of Acorn Running Club, will be split between City and the Knights.
For further details, Tattersall can be contacted on 01904 703067.
