ANY number of adjectives can be applied to Holgate Road. Historic, certainly. Neighbourly, without a doubt.
But trendy?
This street would not be the first to leap into the mind as the hip hang-out of happening young things. But all that may soon change if the owners of a new caf get their way.
Their plan to turn Holgate Road into a caffeine-fuelled cultural congress is starting small, with toasties and baguettes. But who knows? Given the right fillings, it might soon become the Greenwich Village of Northern England.
