John Quinn, who was on the mark with Archie Babe at Doncaster last Thursday and with Carlton at Newcastle yesterday, can maintain his flying start to the new Flat turf season at Catterick tomorrow.
The Settrington trainer can gain his third strike with Aleron, the mount of Tony Culhane, in the catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap over one mile and six furlongs.
A winner over this course and distance last autumn, Aleron has been in good form on the sand recently, which includes a winning effort at Southwell.
Despite the prescence of Fatehalkhair, last year's winner of this race, Aleron is napped to keep Quinn's star in the ascendency.
Tim Easterby won the Yarm Handicap 12 months ago with Timing, and it would be no surprise to see the Great Habton trainer take the honours tomorrow with No Looking Back.
Robert Winston's mount had only three outings last season, but showed definite signs of promise. Now stepping up to a mile-and-a-half, and tackling handicap company for the first time, the three-year-old is fancied to come into his own.
Easterby and Winston can also lift the Toytop Maiden Stakes with Majestic Times, another horse who was lightly-raced as a juvenile, but who showed promise all the same.
Mister Rambo, who finished third in a one-mile celebrity charity race at Doncaster last Friday when ridden by Mark Birch, should have benefitted from that outing.
The eight-year-old, more at home over seven furlongs, should not be overlooked in the Gods Solution Handicap over his favourite distance.
At Nottingham, Pat Eddery could be the man to follow.
The 11-times champion jockey, who celebrated his 51st birthday last week, is riding with the same dedication and commitment as always, and he looks set for a lucrative afternoon at the Midlands course.
Eddery teams-up with a couple of interesting maidens for Sussex trainer John Dunlop in Island Saint (2.10) and Rawwaah (3.45), and neither of these promising three-year-olds should be underestimated.
The Eddery-Dunlop combination can also click in the Sponsors Lunch Handicap with Harlestone Bay, who showed enough last season to suggest he can win a modest race such as this. It is a tip in itself that he has been kept in training as a four-year-old at Dunlop's powerful Arundel stable.
Hambleton trainer Kevin Ryan has booked champion jockey Kieren Fallon for Quiet Times in the six-furlongs Annual Membership Handicap.
The hint should be taken, especially as Quiet Times is coming into action with a brace of all-weather wins under his belt.
Wednesday's tips:
Catterick
2.20 Big Pee Tee, 2.55 Wainwright, 3.25 Aleron (Nap), 3.55 Mister Rambo, 4.25 Majestic Times, 4.55 No Looking Back.
Nottingham
2.10 Island Saint, 2.45 Sawwaah, 3.15 Harlestone Bay, 3.45 Rawwaah, 4.15 Jarjoor, 4.45 Quiet Times.
- Tomorrow's other meeting is at Lingfield.
