FLOWER fans have turned petals into pounds for a cancer charity.
Wigginton and Haxby Flower Club managed to raise £315 for Marie Curie Cancer Care in a flower show and coffee morning.
The club held a Daffodil Campaign Day, with daffodils and beautiful baskets of flowers to both highlight and raise money for the campaign.
The flower club has given its support to the appeal for several years, holding bring-and-buy sales and flower displays to raise funds.
York community fundraising manager Susie Fothergill said the group had provided invaluable support for the Marie Curie charity.
She said: "Groups like these provide an enormous boost for our group and it is great to see constant support for our efforts.
"They put a great deal of effort and time into the organisation of events like these to help other people, and we really are very grateful."
