AN EAGLE-eyed delivery driver spotted one of his firm's vehicles heading up the A19 minutes after it had been stolen in York.
The Main Line Couriers van was stolen from outside the Mecca Bingo hall, in Fishergate.
An employee then saw it heading towards Thirsk on the A19 and alerted police.
A detective in an unmarked police car then spotted the van, and called in marked traffic cars, which stopped it close to Knayton, near Thirsk.
A man was arrested and has been bailed to attend York Magistrates Court later this month.
