VILLAGERS near Selby are springing into action for another year of fundraising for St Leonard's Hospice in York.
Riccall's first event of the season will be a pub quiz at the Hare and Hounds on Thursday, followed by the spring open gardens and craft fair on Sunday, April 6.
The St Leonard's Hospice Riccall Support Group has raised thousands of pounds, of which £5,000 was raised last year alone.
The quiz starts at 8pm and is open to teams of up to six. Tickets cost £2 per person on the door or from members of the committee.
Karen O'Hara, who has organised the event along with Brian Keen, said: "It is always a pleasant evening and we welcome newcomers who would like to try for the winners' shield.
"Landlords of the Hare and Hounds, Rob Atkinson and Heather Thompson, are donating the supper, so we hope to raise lots of money for the Hospice."
The spring open gardens features a craft fair and refreshments in the village Institute from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday, April 6, and entrance costs £1.
To help at any of the events, phone Karen O'Hara on 01757 249403.
