Nip On has conditions to his liking to produce a return to winning form at Sedgefield tomorrow.
The nine-year-old, trained by North Yorkshire handler Jimmy Turner, goes for the Harry Lane Memorial Handicap Hurdle over three miles and three furlongs, and will appreciate the anticipated good, fast ground, which he has shown a preference for in the past.
Nip On, a previous winner over this course and distance, finished third to Native Legend on his latest start at Ayr. But the ground that day was heavy, which was totally against him.
Back on a sounder surface tomorrow, Nip On can show his worth in this marathon event. Malton jockey David O'Meara has the mount on my Nap selection.
The French Furze, a winner on this course last week, can produce an encore in the Alan Merrigan Memorial Novices' Chase.
Nicky Richards' nine-year-old, formerly a high-class hurdler, won by 24 lengths on his recent chasing bow, despite showing a tendency to jump out to his right. It is hoped he will remain straighter at his obstacles tomorrow when Brian Harding again has the mount.
At Ascot, the consistent No Collusion has good prospects in the Royal Ascot Cricket Club Handicap Hurdle.
The seven-year-old, trained by Noel Chance, finished third to Covent Garden at Kelso last time and will be better suited by tomorrow's quicker ground. Tom Phelan, an experienced 5lb claimer, takes the mount.
Tomorrow's Flat racing is at Folkestone, where Prince Of Denmark, a newcomer from the Richard Hannon team, should not be overlooked in the New Turf Season Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
