ALNE, Next Generation, Heworth II and Stamford Bridge were elected to the IT Sports York and District Mixed Doubles Tennis League to bring the total number of teams to 86 in 11 divisions. The league starts Monday, May 5.
Entries for the Graham Wykes Memorial Knock-Out Trophy Handicap competition for men's, women's and mixed doubles, should be sent to Sue Espiner, 15 Hillside Close Hillam, Leeds LS25 5PB (01977 684121) by April 25.
York Tennis Club will host the end-of-season trophy presentation on Friday, October 10 and the Peter Terry Trophy Under-16 mixed doubles competition, which celebrates its 40th year, is scheduled for Rowntree Park on June 8.

The York Family Tennis Tournament sponsored by Nestl, which celebrates its silver jubilee this year, has been arranged for the refurbished Rowntree Park on May 3-4. The Tyke Petroleum junior singles tournament which has boys' and girls' age groups for under-10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 is being held at Wigginton TC, York TC, Queen Anne School and Bootham School on Saturday, May 17 (9.15am). The Alf Bewick Mixed Doubles Tournament for couples aged 45 and over is at Dunnington on Sunday, September 14 at 1pm. Entries and inquiries to Jeanette Parkinson, 22 Water Lane, Dunnington, York Y019 5NS (tel 01904 488224). Closing date is Saturday, September 6.
