STAFF, STUDENTS and friends of three Yorkshire Quaker schools will join forces to perform a charity concert at York Minster tonight.
The Mount School and Bootham School, York, perform with Ackworth School, Pontefract, once every three years as The Yorkshire Friends' Choir.
This year they will perform a repertoire that includes the Academic Festival Overture by Brahms, and Beethoven's Symphony No 9 in D Minor in aid of Jessie's Fund, a charity in memory of York girl Jessica George, who died aged nine from a brain tumour.
The students have been rehearsing at their individual schools, but will sing together with soloists and an orchestra at York Minster, 7pm tonight. Jane Holloway, marketing officer for The Mount School said "Our age range is wide, and our musical experience is varied, but we are sure that, with the help of our excellent soloists and orchestra we can communicate our own enjoyment of some great music."
Tickets will be available on the door and cost £10 for adults and £8 for concessions.
