Police in Selby are warning members of the public to be on the lookout for a dangerous pesticide, which was stolen from a farmer's field.
Three boxes of the agricultural insecticide Temik, which was being sprayed on open countryside, were stolen on Thursday morning from a field at Wistow Common, near Selby. It is feared that the contents could cause serious health problems in the wrong hands.
The ten kilogram boxes, which are about the size of a large box of washing powder, were left out at 10am for a farm worker to use.
The theft was not noticed until the farm worker ran out of Temik and asked the farmer for more at 1pm.
If anyone sees the boxes, which are white with Temik written on in blue lettering, or has any information, they should phone Detective Sergeant Phil Mincher on 01757 702596.
