Bootham Conservative Club 'A', who were held at a 5-5 draw by Poppleton 'A', need two points to finish runner-up. Jon Wooldridge and Mick Wadsworth both scored two wins for Bootham, while York champion Richard Moss was unbeaten for Poppleton.
Poppleton 'A' pulled clear of the relegation zone with a 6-4 win over fellow strugglers Nestl Rowntree 'A', Moss winning three for Poppleton. Jill Schofield scored two wins for Nestl.
Strensall moved back up to third place after their 8-2 win over York RI 'B'. Joe Farmery was unbeaten for Strensall and Joe Teale played well for RI.
John Freeman, playing his second match in York League, won three as Coneysthorpe surprisingly overwhelmed Nestl Rowntree 'A' 9-1.
Three wins by Mick Kenyon helped Groves Associates 'A' to a 7-3 win over York RI 'C'.
Groves Associates 'B' remain on course to win division two. They drew 5-5 with Sessions 'B', Pete Harpham and Steve Long each winning two for Groves and Keith Elsegood and Dave Hough two each for Sessions.
Mick Mills and Richard Ingley were unbeaten as third-placed Bootham Conservative Club 'B' beat BT 'A' 9-1.
John Elliott's three wins helped York RI 'D' to a 5-5 draw with BT 'A''.
Dave Simpson and Keith Webster both won three as Nestl Rowntree 'B' beat York RI 'D' 9-1.
Graham Perrin and Colin Dobson were unbeaten as Northern Electric thrashed Groves Associates 'C' 8-2.
Bootham Conservative Club 'C' have won division three with three games left to play. Norwich Union 'A' have dropped to bottom place after losing 6-4 to Strensall 'D', whose Steve Wand won three.
York RI 'E' moved clear of the bottom after beating their 'F' team 6-4, Joe Teale winning three for the 'E' team.
Shepherds 'A' moved away from the relegation zone with a 9-1 win over their 'B' team, with Gary Neads and Brian Collier both unbeaten
Groves Associates 'D' have had their lead in division four cut to two points by nearest rivals Nestl Rowntree 'C'.
They beat Norwich Union 'B' 9-1 with three wins each for Steve Potter and Keith Hood, while Nestl 'C' have chalked up two wins.
Richard Falkingham won three as they crushed York RI 'I' 9-1 and he was again unbeaten in the 7-3 win over York RI 'J'.
Shepherds 'C' bounced back from losing 8-2 to York RI 'G' by whitewashing York RI 'K' 10-0.
Stephen Robinson won three for RI 'G'. Richard Church and Tracy Sleet were unbeaten as Norwich Union beat Poppleton 'A' 8-2.
